Thrombospondin (TSP) is a glycoprotein and widely distributed extracellular matrix protein and has been identified as an active agent in angiogenesis, platelet aggregation and cell adhesion. It has been implicated in processes such as wound healing, tumor growth and metastasis. Thrombospondin can acts as a competitive inhibitor of neutrophil elastase.
